A few words about us

L&S Consulting (Pty) Ltd 's history dates back to its origins in Cape Town, where Liebenberg & Stander Consulting Engineers was founded as a partnership in 1954 in Cape Town. A Johannesburg office was opened in 1981, and this evolved into an independent company, Liebenberg & Stander Gauteng (Pty) Ltd in 1995. In 2005, the company's name was changed to L&S Consulting (Pty) Ltd.

Our company is involved in Consulting Structural and Civil Engineering, mainly for the private sector for office buildings, retail and industrial developments as well as motor dealerships, residential and hotel projects.

Our primary business is the design of concrete, structural steel, timber and masonry building structures, as well as the design of associated roads, parking and infrastructural services. The projects we are involved in are designed to be competitively cost effective, yet reflect the quality expected by the owners. Each director is closely involved in the day to day project management, design and construction supervision of all of our projects.

L&S Consulting (Pty) Ltd is owned by the directors and associates of the company: Simon Griffiths, Gianfranco Talocchino, Christopher Bloem and Jandré de Beer.

Professional Indemnity

We carry Professional Indemnity cover on all projects on a claim by claim basis.

Staff

At present, our staff complement of 36 people includes sixteen engineers (including five PrEng engineers and two PrTechEng technologists).

Ownership and Diversity

L&S Consulting (Pty) Ltd strives to promote diversity in the appointment of staff and management, and by upskilling candidates internally to achieve the company's transformation objectives. Transformation goals form an integral part of the company's succession planning.

Skills Development

L&S Consulting has structured training programmes for candidates needing experiential training as well as internships, learnerships and mentorship programmes for professional registration. L&S Consulting has bursaries for engineers studying at university. Candidates from training programmes are typically absorbed by L&S Consulting and strategic partners. L&S Consulting encourages and supports staff for further studies such as honours, master degrees and continued professional development. This includes in house programmes for advancement of leadership and management skills with the assistance of People Development Partners. L&S Consulting assists with the financial support of individuals placed at strategic partners seeking post graduate studies. Internal upskilling is continuously implemented to ensure opportunities for staff to progress and grow, aligned with operational needs to ensure that a high level of service is maintained.
